NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A two-alarm fire early Thursday displaced five residents from a four-unit dwelling on Lonely Oak Drive, according to the New Orleans Fire Department.
The fire was reported at 4746-48 Lonely Oak Dr. at 12:29 a.m. The first NOFD unit arrived at 12:36 a.m. and found heavy flames visible in the second-floor rear of the two-story building. Firefighters were notified upon arrival that all five residents had escaped safely.
A second alarm was requested at 12:43 a.m. due to the size of the structure and risk to nearby occupied buildings. Eighteen NOFD units and approximately 47 fire operations personnel responded to the scene. The fire was mostly contained to the rear apartments and placed under control at 1:17 a.m…
