The Sewerage & Water Board spends millions of dollars every year to capture, treat and distribute billions of gallons of Mississippi River water to residents and businesses. Most of that water seeps back into the ground through dilapidated pipes, an enormous waste that drives up costs and adds unnecessary strain on the infrastructure.
