A ‘resilience room’ supports employees
North Oaks Health in Hammond opened a “resilience room” for employees in August, creating a dedicated space where team members can recharge and “manage the physical and emotional demands of working in healthcare.”
“Our employees devote themselves every day to caring for our patients and community,” said Michele K. Sutton, the President and CEO of North Oaks Health. “Supporting their well-being is both a responsibility and a strategic priority.”
The room includes massage chairs, yoga mats and soothing nature sounds to promote relaxation and reduce stress.

Dr. Jeffrey Keller at LSU’s Pennington Biomedical Research Center and Sara Seifert with Minnesota HealthSolutions received the National Institutes of Health’s Small Business Innovation Research award to develop an innovative digital health platform that will help parents support teenagers with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder as they learn to drive.
