FIRST ALERT: Storm threats begin this evening north of the lake

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A busy weather pattern is set to begin as soon as this evening as storm threats creep into our north shore areas.

Ahead of our first round of storms, it’s going to be a hot day. Highs will soar to near 90° under mostly dry skies. Around sunset, we’re anticipating storms dropping south out of Mississippi leading to a severe weather risk across the north shore and MS Gulf Coast.

⚠️🌩️ FIRST ALERT THREATS – These higher storm threats will linger for a few days. Thursday we carry a 60% rain and storm threat, that increases to 70-80% storm threats by Friday/Friday night. The good news is we should clear out pretty quickly come Saturday so the weekend days of Jazz Fest may turn out to be okay. It will be much cooler too!…
