There will be a lot more chefs than usual in New Orleans this week, including top names around the American culinary scene and beyond. Most will likely be doing more dining than cooking.
New Orleans is the host city for the latest edition of North America’s 50 Best Restaurants. That’s a new ranking, now in its second year, from an organization that rates restaurants, bars and hotels around the world.
The rankings are secret until they’re revealed at an invite-only gala ceremony, held at the Sheraton Hotel on the night of May 28. But chefs on that invite list are expected in town for the ceremony and for related industry events, private parties and pop-ups held around the city.
For people who prize a high-profile chef sighting the way others do pop stars or sports heroes, there should be some memorable cameos in New Orleans dining rooms this week…
