Three hospitalized after two-vehicle crash in the intersection of Benns Church Boulevard and South Church Street in Isle of Wight

ISLE OF WIGHT, Va. (WAVY) — Three people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in the intersection of Benns Church Boulevard and South Church Street in Smithfield Wednesday afternoon, according to Isle of Wight County Fire Rescue.

On June 24 at around 3:16 p.m., Isle of Wight County Fire Rescue Medic 64 encountered a two-vehicle crash in the intersection while transporting a patient to a local hospital. The unit then stopped to assess the crash, finding three people, with one of them needing to be extricated from one of the vehicles.

After the extrication was completed, the three people were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
