Court docs: Suspect accompanied victim to Hampton restaurant before shooting

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Newly obtained court documents reveal the 18-year-old suspect in the April shooting at Juicy King Crab House in Hampton accompanied one victim into the restaurant.

The shooting happened April 2 inside the establishment, located at 55 Towne Centre Way, where police say two people were injured.

While officers were responding, the report was upgraded from a fight to someone being shot in the leg. Upon arrival, officers found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower left leg. Once taken to an area hospital, she later revealed to officers that unknown individuals approached her and began to pepper spray her along with those seated in the booth with her at the establishment. Court documents state she was with her infant child, a female, a male and the suspect, identified as Nasydi Brown.

The unknown individuals subsequently pulled the victim’s hair and struck her in the head. The victim claimed she grabbed her child and began running towards the back of the restaurant when she was struck in the leg.

While on scene, officers made contact with the second walk-in gunshot victim. Court documents stated she entered the restaurant with a group of her friends when she quickly heard commotion and gunshots. After hearing gunshots, she found she was shot and taken by her friend to the hospital…
