HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A Poquoson man faces a felony hit-and-run charge after police said he lost control of his vehicle Sunday afternoon and struck a man who was mowing his lawn in Hampton.

Hampton Police said Cody Piper, 31, was driving on Wheatland Drive shortly after 3 p.m. when he left the roadway and crashed into Brandon Jordan, the impact throwing Jordan across the yard.
Jordan, along with a woman riding in Piper’s vehicle, suffered life-threatening injuries and they were taken to the hospital. Jordan is now on life support, according to a GoFundMe put out by Jordan’s neighbor.
