Navy issues contracts for carrier maintenance, YRBMs and Portsmouth repairs

On May 13, the U.S. Navy awarded a series of contracts totaling more than $400 million for carrier maintenance support, yard support vessels, personnel system sustainment, and infrastructure repairs at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

Huntington Ingalls Industries Fleet Support Group LLC, Virginia Beach, Va., received a $220.7 million cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity modification to a previously awarded contract for Navy aircraft carrier engineering maintenance assist team and surface engineering maintenance assist team support.

The contract covers maintenance planning and overhaul support for equipment and systems aboard Navy aircraft carriers and west coast Navy surface ships. Work will be performed aboard carriers within and outside the continental U.S., including forward-deployed locations, through February 2027…
