NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Surrounded by family, Chris Odachowski is in the hospital recovering from complications after being diagnosed with a collapsed lung. And while it prevented him from being in person to see his daughter graduate from Christopher Newport University, he was able to see a stream of the ceremony and, still in cap-and-gown, she shared her special day with him.
“I’ve never had any significant medical issues,” Odachowski said. “April 15, I had a pain in my chest. We finally made it to the ER to get checked out.”
He was treated and released, only to be readmitted on Mother’s Day with flu-like symptoms. The complications kept him in the hospital, missing one of life’s special moments…
