An Oakland man already on probation as a convicted felon is facing multiple felony charges after police say they tracked down a stolen vehicle and arrested him following a standoff last Friday. The case traces back to July 4, when a victim was carjacked near 42nd Avenue and International Boulevard in East Oakland.
According to the Oakland Police Dept., officers located the stolen vehicle more than a month after the carjacking and arrested the suspect, described as an Oakland resident, after a standoff. Police say the suspect is a convicted felon on probation who now faces multiple felony charges, though the department’s post did not specify the exact charges, the duration of the standoff, or whether a weapon was recovered at the scene.
