Drivers warned of some Edmond railroad crossing closures due to BNSF maintenance

EDMOND, Okla. (KFOR) — The City of Edmond announced two upcoming railroad crossing closures due to scheduled maintenance work by BNSF on Sorghum Mill and Coffee Creek Roads.

Edmond city officials previously requested that BNSF postpone the maintenance; however, they were told that the closures could not be delayed due to crews having already scheduled to travel across the rail system for the necessary work on both crossings.

  • Coffee Creek Road at the railroad crossing: Closure will begin August 14, with an anticipated completion date of August 26.

Maintenance to the railroad crossings is to guarantee long-term safety and reliability for drivers who travel through the area.
