OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A new crisis center will soon open in Oklahoma City to expand access to mental health services. It’s named after Robert Ravitz, the former Oklahoma County chief public defender and advocate for mental health.
“Today we’re building that place not just for the people who need it today, but for every family who may need it tomorrow,” said Joshua Anderson, the interim commissioner of ODMHSAS.

The MAPS 4 project costs $12.2 million and first started being discussed a few years ago between the city and the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
“You should have some transitional housing, and you should have some kind of restoration center that is both addressing substance abuse and possibly more crisis center beds.
