East of Yukon Parkway, leaders greenlight sports complex, hotel and dining mega project

Yukon, Oklah. — City leaders in Yukon have approved a massive economic development project east of the Yukon Parkway, split by Old Highway 4, that would bring a youth sports complex, medical offices, restaurants, and a hotel with a price tag of more than $62 million.

The project is being funded through a tax increment district, using future tax revenue to pay for the development.

Under the plan, less money would go to schools and services upfront because a large share of tax revenue would be directed to the project in its early years…
