A Kansas City woman has been sentenced to 13 years in prison in a case that drew national attention after the death of her infant daughter in 2024.
Mariah Thomas, 28, pleaded guilty in Jackson County court to first-degree child endangerment resulting in death. As part of the agreement, a murder charge filed later in the case was dismissed. Authorities said she will serve her sentence in the Missouri Department of Corrections, KMBC reported.
