KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Police have identified the woman found shot in the parking lot of a Casey’s gas station at 79th Street and Wornall Road overnight Sunday as Lavetta Doolin, 21. Medics tried to save her life, but she died at the scene, police said.
Police do not have anyone in custody. Investigators are continuing to work to determine what led up to the shooting and where exactly it occurred.
Detectives were seen searching the grass behind the gas station for evidence that could explain what happened. KCTV5 asked KCPD whether Doolin was shot at the location or somewhere else. Police said that is still part of the investigation…
