KCFD battles early morning house fire that threatened neighboring home

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Flames tore through a vacant Kansas City home overnight, forcing firefighters outside as conditions became too dangerous to fight from within.

The Kansas City Fire Department said crews responded to the area of E. 41st and Montgall Ave. just after 4:25 a.m. on Sunday, May 24, after reports of a house fire.

Crews indicated that they arrived to find smoke and flames billowing from the unoccupied residence.

Firefighters noted that an adjacent home to the north was occupied and exposed to the blaze. They took protective measures to shield that property while conducting searches of the burning structure…
