It’s time for your Local Pulse Weekend Top 10, and Downtown Pensacola smells like the Gulf this weekend.
The Pensacola Seafood Festival takes over Seville Square for three days of fresh catch, live music, and 170+ artists. A few blocks away, Palafox Pier hosts the city’s first-ever Lionfish Invitational, where divers haul in an invasive species and local chefs turn it into dinner. Saturday night, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias brings The 1976 Tour to the Bay Center.

The biggest fall tradition downtown is back, and admission is free. Fiesta Pensacola fills three parks with Gulf shrimp, crab cakes, grouper, gumbo, and plenty of options for non-seafood eaters. There are also 170+ arts and crafts exhibitors, chef demos at the Fiesta Seafood Grille, and a Children’s Area in Bartram Park. Moon Taxi and The Molly Ringwalds headline the free music lineup. Bring a lawn chair and plan to stay a while. The festival runs rain or shine.

Pensacola’s first Lionfish Invitational brings divers, conservation advocates, and curious locals to the waterfront. Watch the weigh-ins as teams bring in one of the Gulf’s most destructive invasive species. Then catch local chefs showing off how delicious lionfish can be. The public festival is free and family friendly. You don’t need to own a dive tank to enjoy it.

One of the highest grossing touring comedians of all time returns to Pensacola, fresh off his Netflix special Legend of Fluffy. Expect big stories, character voices, and sound effects in a set that works for just about every age in the family. Grab tickets before they’re gone.

Raise a stein downtown as Perfect Plain rolls out its Oktoberfest celebration. It’s an easy afternoon stop between seafood festival laps and the perfect excuse to toast the start of fall on the Gulf Coast.

This is your last chance to catch Pensacola Little Theatre’s stage adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ bestselling thriller, directed by Billy Buff. More than 100 vendors bring the strange and the beautiful indoors at this all-ages market. Browse taxidermy, fossils, crystals and gems, handmade crafts, original artwork, and dark and taboo romance books. You can also get a reading from psychics and tarot readers, then refuel at the food trucks. Advance tickets are $10 online and $15 at the door, and parking is free. Every dollar of proceeds supports the local nonprofit Access Art.
