National manufacturing company acquires Oregon dairy brand’s Clackamas facility

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Months after an Oregon dairy brand announced plans to close its last remaining facility in the state, another company is gearing up to take over.

Plant Based Innovations has purchased the Clackamas property where Alpenrose previously manufactured butter, sour cream and ice cream, Harry Davis & Company announced on Wednesday. The sale facilitated by HDC comes just weeks after the dairy brand halted operations at the facility.

Earlier in January, Alpenrose revealed plans to shutter the plant it had acquired just years prior in an effort to expand. However, “economic headwinds” impacted the expansion, leading to the company’s decision to focus on milk production at its facility in Kent.
