Portland ordered four $1 million fire engines and has waited more than a year with no delivery in sight.
Now the city is taking its frustration to court, accusing about a dozen manufacturers of rigging the market and squeezing supply while forcing cities nationwide to pay more.
The city’s antitrust lawsuit alleges manufacturers are now charging almost double for the fire engine model that Portland bought in 2025 — a Pierce “Enforcer” pumper — and that the city’s order isn’t in production yet nor are orders going back to mid-2024…
