PORTLAND, Ore. — Police arrested eight people Friday morning during a protest in the lobby of the Hilton-owned Porter Portland hotel, where demonstrators from the group Sunrise Movement PDX called on the company to stop accepting bookings for ICE agents and other DHS personnel.
“They shouldn’t be profiting off of ICE and DHS agents being in their hotels, living there, getting room service, getting five-star service,” said Casadie Kimball, a Sunrise Movement member who was among those arrested Friday morning.
Officers were called to the downtown hotel at around 7:45 a.m., according to dispatch records.
