Single dad threatened with fines and loss of home for a ‘future issue’ with hedge after challenging homeless encampment

A SINGLE dad has been left thousands of dollars out of pocket after city officials threatened him with fines and liens over his hedge.

Chris Bolton from Portland, Oregon, was slapped with notices from city code enforcers soon after he repeatedly went to the city about the homeless encampment that arrived outside his home.

In one email to the city, seen by The Oregonian, he said “I recently noticed the current campers which include an RV and 2-3 tents have carved out a hole in my hedge and dug into the ground in the hole. So I’m assuming it’s for garbage, refuse, or make-shift toilet.

“They also run a loud generator all day and night,” Bolton’s Oct. 5 missive continued. “I have a tenant. I have a grade schooler. I don’t want sewage seeping into my yard. Can you help?”…
