PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Local Rhode Island Democratic Party leaders have snubbed the incumbent governor and lieutenant governor for the second election in a row.
At a meeting Monday evening, the R.I. Association of Democratic City and Town Chairs endorsed Helena Foulkes for governor, declining to back another term for Dan McKee. The same group backed then-Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea over both McKee and Foulkes four years ago.
