Ms. Finicky, a 1980s-themed cocktail bar, is coming to the California Avenue station formerly occupied by Forest Street Station. The grand opening is this Thursday. Jason Hidalgo has the details.
Owners say the 1980s influence is more of a “vibe” than an in-your-face theme, so it’s not quite going to be a “Back to the Future”-style Cafe ’80s.
Still, it’s noteworthy that Ms. Finicky is going to be less than 300 yards west of classic arcade game bar Press Start. Is this how tourism districts get started? Does anywhere else in America have a 1980s Quarter? We should look into this, maybe add a Blockbuster-themed ice cream shop and an “Alf” café and see where things go…
