How this Richmond man turned his DUI tragedy into a life mission

RICHMOND, Va. — A peer recovery specialist at the McShin Foundation on Dumbarton Road in Richmond is helping others find sobriety — and his path to that work began with a crash that killed a young mother.

On November 26, 2016, the day after Thanksgiving, Tory Branch was driving along Route 15 in Buckingham County to visit a friend. He had been drinking, passed out behind the wheel and hit another car head-on.
