‘People drive too fast’: Chesterfield Police crack down on drivers speeding along Route 288

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) – Using a LIDAR device, Corporal Lee Hastings keeps his eyes peeled for drivers speeding along Route 288.

“There’s a speeding problem everywhere,” he said. “People drive too fast and the dangerous driving behavior that we see really happens everywhere.”

This is a pattern the Chesterfield County Police Department is trying to break on this busy stretch with a traffic blitz on Friday.
