ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Deputies with the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man from Canandaigua for assault Friday evening. Deputies say the incident happened in the town of Canandaigua on Creekview Drive.
According to the OCSO, Leondis Phillip Caver, 31, strangled his girlfriend and damaged a toilet and television at around 9 p.m. During the course of being detained, deputies say Caver physically resisted law enforcement and punched a deputy in the right side of the head and caused the deputy substantial pain.
Deputies took Caver to the Ontario County Jail and will appear at Canandaigua Town Court to answer to the charges at a later date.
