ROCHESTER, NY — Two 21-year-old men were killed early Friday in a wrong-way crash on Rochester’s Inner Loop, and state police say the driver who entered traffic the wrong way remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The crash happened around 1:26 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near the St. Paul Street overpass. Troopers said a Honda CR-V was traveling against traffic and struck a Ford Fusion head-on.
Who was hurt in the crash
State police identified the men killed in the Ford as Charles Barnes, the driver, and Quincy Battle, the front-seat passenger. Both died at the scene.
Police said the force of the impact also pushed the Ford into a Jeep Liberty. The Jeep’s driver, 29-year-old Marvin Harmon, was checked at the scene and then taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Wrong-way driver remains in hospital
