Rockford woman arrested for fatal May hit-and-run involving distracted drunk driving

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A Rockford woman has been arrested for a fatal distracted drunk driving hit-and-run in May.

On Sunday, May 3, around 10:30 p.m., Rockford Police were called to the 3100 block of Rockton Avenue, where 47-year-old James Hughes had been struck by a car and was found lying in the street.

Hughes was taken to a hospital, but on May 20, he died from his injuries…
