ROCKFORD — A farewell celebration will be held for Mayor Tom McNamara and his family next week, honoring the outgoing city leader for his years as a mayor and alderman.
A City Says Thank You: A Community Celebration Honoring Rockford Mayor Tom & Sarah McNamara is scheduled for 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Wednesday, Aug. 26 at IBEW Hall, 6820 Mill Road. There will be a short program at 5:15 p.m.
“Serving as mayor of Rockford has been the honor of my life,” McNamara said in a news release. “This community has given me so much, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve. I look forward to celebrating with friends, colleagues and residents who have helped make Rockford the city it is today.”…
