ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – At Fair Grounds Park in Rockford, dozens of families filled bags with groceries, clothing and household necessities at the Community Free Store organized by From Rockford and The Liam Foundation.
“It’s just something to provide to fulfill the needs of our community. We see a lot of people in need, a lot of people who have the resources to help, a lot of people that need help, and just trying to bridge that gap and connect those two parties,” said Ari Perez, a community organizer.
Friday marks the second Community Free Store. Donations comig from all across the area help families facing food insecurity and financial stress.
