BRENTWOOD, Mo. – A driver at Brentwood Promenade got a close call when the pavement suddenly gave way behind their parked car Monday, and property managers say it’s déjà vu.
The collapse happened near Dobbs Tire and Auto Centers and Micro Center in a busy section of the shopping center where customers pass through daily. The sinkhole has grown over the past 24 hours and measured roughly six feet by four feet Tuesday afternoon. Management says it continues to be closely monitored as crews work to determine what caused the pavement to fail.
Property owners say this is the second sinkhole to form in the exact same spot this year. In the video from the scene, a visible difference in concrete color shows where repairs were previously made after a sinkhole developed in February.
