ISP bust nine businesses for underage alcohol sales

Illinois State Police recently visited local businesses to enforce underage drinking laws. Zone 6 Commander Captain Jamie Brunnworth says the surveillance took place in Calhoun, Madison, and Macoupin Counties; and several of the locations surveyed were involved in the sale of an alcoholic beverage to a minor.

Nine of the 56 locations investigated were caught allegedly selling alcoholic beverages to minors—in Carlinville: BP Carlinville and Maxamillian’s Video Poker… in Kampsville: the Kampsville American Legion Post 1083 and Dick’s Riverside Bar & Grill… in Maryville: Mariachis Maryville and One Stop Shop… in Troy: Kokomo Joe’s, Lucky’s Parlor, and Time Out Sports Bar.

Employees who were involved in the sales were cited for Unlawful Delivery of Alcoholic Liquor to a minor, a Class A misdemeanor…
