A hearing to decide the fate of the troubled Webster Groves Municipal Court has been delayed a week, and is now scheduled for Friday, Aug. 14.
Webster Groves Municipal Judge Daniel Nolan, who has filled the role since the resignation of former Judge James Leritz in March, is to appear before St. Louis County Presiding Judge Bruce Hilton to show why the municipal court should not be found in violation of several laws.
Judge Hilton on March 5 gave the Webster Groves Municipal Court 180 days, until Aug. 7, to remedy a number of problems he outlined in the circuit court’s “show cause order.” The order stated his office had “received credible information indicating that the Webster Groves Municipal Court has failed to remedy several concerns (previously reported) and may be operating outside the legal parameters established by Missouri law, Supreme Court rules and applicable local circuit court rules.”…
