The grand opening Saturday (August 15) of Uhuru Bakery & Cafe in the College Hill neighborhood is being celebrated as a major step in the revitalization of the West Florissant corridor, now referred to by some as the Uhuru District.
Bakari Olatunji says Uhuru is Swahili for freedom and the Uhuru movement is about Black self-determination and economic self-reliance.
