MARYVILLE, Ill. (August 5, 2026) – The Village of Maryville proudly hosted a dedication ceremony on August 5 to commemorate the completion of the new roundabout at the intersection of Keebler Road and Illinois Route 162, a transportation safety project that was nearly a decade in the making.
Village officials were joined by federal, state, county, regional, township, and local leaders, along with engineers, contractors, project partners, and community members to recognize the collaboration and perseverance that made the project possible.
During the ceremony, Mayor Wayne White reflected on the importance of the project and recognized the many individuals and organizations whose dedication helped bring the roundabout from concept to completion. Special recognition was given to Retired Mayor and current Village Trustee Larry Gulledge, who initiated the effort to improve the intersection, and Retired Mayor Craig Short, whose leadership helped move the project forward through numerous funding challenges and the unprecedented obstacles presented during the COVID-19 pandemic…
