(ABC 6 News) – Attorneys for 38 people charged after a protest inside a St. Paul church want a federal judge to throw out the case.
The charges stem from a January protest inside Cities Church in St. Paul. The group was protesting ICE policies and a church pastor who also served as a local ICE official.
Prosecutors said the protesters disrupted the service and interfered with congregants’ religious freedom. Defense attorneys argued the protest was protected speech and also claimed selective prosecution and government misconduct…
