A Teen’s Private Snapchat Story Turned Into a Felony Arrest and Expulsion in Just Hours After FBI Showed Up

A Florida cosmetology student’s private Snapchat post turned into a law enforcement response, an expulsion, and a felony arrest after the message was flagged and forwarded through the FBI to local deputies.

EWU Bodycam reported that the incident happened on January 5, 2026, when the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a written threat to commit a mass shooting at the Aveda Institute in Clearwater, Florida. According to the channel’s host, the threat began as a private Snapchat story posted by Addison Gass, a teenager attending the school.

The post, as described in the footage and police records cited by EWU Bodycam, included a picture of Addison and language saying she was “about to” shoot up the school because people there had made her angry.
