18-year-old driver dies after crashing into tree, down embankment off Hwy 214 in Marion Co.

MARION Ore. (KPTV) – An 18-year-old driver died and a passenger was seriously hurt after a single-car crash on Highway 214 in Marion County on Wednesday, according to police.

Just before 2 a.m., officers with the Oregon State Police were sent to a crash on the highway near milepost 22.

Officers said Adrian Ramos Monroy of Salem was driving a Subaru south when he left the roadway for an unknown reason and crashed into a tree. The car then continued down an embankment where it caught fire…
