SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A Utah criminal defense attorney says more arrests could follow after federal prosecutors charged two people accused of helping a handcuffed man escape from federal immigration agents outside a Salt Lake City Home Depot.
The case stems from an Oct. 8 targeted enforcement action in the parking lot of the Home Depot at 328 W. 2100 South in Salt Lake City. Federal prosecutors say agents with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Border Patrol and the Office of Field Operations were trying to arrest several people suspected of having been previously deported when one man ran from the scene while still in handcuffs.
