Suspect apprehended in San Diego in Bay Area city’s first homicide of 2026

A suspect wanted in Antioch’s first homicide of the year has been apprehended in San Diego, authorities said.

According to the Antioch Police Department, Zahvon Hopson, 21, was arrested Friday in connection with the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old woman on February 19 in the 2200 block of Sycamore Drive.

Police have not revealed the victim’s name or relationship with Hopson, who was identified using video surveillance, witness testimony, and forensic evidence…
