Couple pleads guilty to stealing mail across San Diego County for two years

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A local couple admitted to a countywide mail theft spree that spanned the course of two years, authorities said.

On Tuesday, David Anthony Burge, 33, of Chula Vista and Kyrsten Renee Bospflug, 36, of Spring Valley pleaded guilty in federal court to mail theft conspiracy.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California, Burge and Bospflug admitted they stole mail from multiple post offices, apartment complexes and businesses all over San Diego County.

From July 2023 to July 2025, they converted checks, credit cards and personal information belonging to other people, resulting in more than $150,000 in stolen money…
