San Franciscans who gritted their teeth through weekend closures on 19th Avenue must now brace for more, Caltrans officials said Friday.
This month the agency will shut down lanes overnight Monday through Friday between Lincoln Way and Holloway Ave. Crews will paint brighter stripes along the three-mile strip of freshly paved road and then make electrical upgrades to finish the project.
The work entails saw-cutting and installing electrical detector loops, which are sensors embedded in the pavement that detect when a car is waiting at a traffic signal. These instruments will be added at Winston Drive, Sloat Boulevard, Vicente Street, Lincoln Way and Quintara Street…
