One person is dead and six are injured after a Saturday night shooting at a massive party in Morgan Hill, an unincorporated community in Santa Clara County.
Deputies with the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office were sent to Hale Avenue near Miramonte Avenue around 10:15 p.m. after reports of intoxicated people on the street and a person throwing bottles at cars, the agency said in a news release Sunday. Deputies arrived to find more than 300 people fleeing the scene after gunshots were fired at the unsanctioned party, which was promoted on social media. Deputies provided first aid to those needing immediate attention until medical personnel arrived. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while others were transported to area hospitals.
