Five people were displaced after a house fire in the unincorporated community of Cherryland near Hayward caused significant damage Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
Firefighters contained the blaze, which was reported on the 800 block of Grove Way in Alameda County, within an hour. Residents evacuated, and no injuries were reported, authorities said.
