(KRON) — A house fire in San Leandro left one person dead and a second one without a home Wednesday evening, Alameda County Fire officials reported.
The fire broke out around 7:20 p.m. in the 800 block of Carmel Court. Alameda County Firefighters responded to the scene after reports from neighbors of seeing flames and smoke coming out of the home. One of the neighbors, who happened to be an Alameda Fire Department Reserve, sprang into action with a garden hose to try and stop the spread of the fire.
