Storm Team 3: Seasonably hot with only a handful of afternoon storms

SAVANNAH, Ga (WSAV) – Good morning – Storm Team 3 Meteorologist Alysa Carsley. Let’s have a fabulous Wednesday!

Thanks to yesterday’s cold front sitting to our south, a northerly wind moved in overnight and has helped bring back temperatures a bit more comfortable in the mid 60s to low 70s. While this was nice for our morning, it does not extend through the afternoon. Highs remain seasonably hot in the low to mid 90s away from the immediate coast. Only a stray storm is possible this afternoon and evening.

A copy-paste type of day tomorrow with lows in the 70s and high temperatures in the low to mid 90s.

Sizzling summer heat increases by the end of the week into the weekend. Highs will be in the mid 90s to close out the workweek Friday before possibly breaking record-high temperatures on Sunday. The record high is 100° on Sunday. Forecasted high temperatures are at 98°. Models have continued to increase weekend temperatures over the last couple of days, so it is certainly possible we reach 100° on Sunday. Either 98° or 100°, you won’t be able to tell an actual difference – hot is HOT!! Heat index values will also increase. Heat advisories could be issued as feel-like temps climb to 110°+ in spots over the weekend…
