NW Louisiana Road Work: Bridge Inspections Start Again Monday

Last week, drivers in Shreveport/Bossier had to make some adjustments to travel plans in order to dodge a number of routine bridge inspections in the area.  Now, we are learning that another round of these inspections will slow travel in several Northwest Louisiana parishes next week.

In an alert from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, we learn that in an effort to conduct these routine bridge inspections, the following lane closures have been scheduled beginning Monday in the northwest region.

Those scheduled inspections will take place the following dates:

  • Monday, July 6: LA 3032 (Shreveport-Barksdale Bridge) eastbound outside lane closure, Caddo/Bossier Parishes
  • Tuesday, July 7: LA 3094 (Hearne Ave) bridge at Twelve Mile Bayou, Caddo Parish, southbound lane closure
  • Wednesday, July 8: US 84 bridge over Bayou Castor east of Logansport, DeSoto Parish, lane closure
  • Friday, July 10: US 84 bridge over the Red River in Coushatta, Red River Parish, lane closure
  • Saturday, July 11: I-20 over the RR crossing near Greenwood, Caddo Parish, eastbound outside lane closure
  • Sunday, July 12: I-49 northbound & southbound over RR crossing south of LA 511 (70th Street), outside lane closure

All of these lane closures will take place from approximately 9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day.

Motorists should be on the lookout for bridge inspection crews and specialized equipment as they drive through the work zone. Please drive with extreme caution.

All of these inspections will occur “Weather Permitting” so inclement weather could delay/extend or alter in other ways the scheduled work day/hours…
