Shreveport has fluoride again. It’s enough, at reduced levels, for 6-8 weeks.
The City of Shreveport ran out of fluoride, the water additive meant to support oral health, in late August amidst a nationwide shortage due to the conflicts in the Middle East. The city announced Friday it’s received an additional shipment, but it’s not clear when the next one will come.
Shreveport is legally obligated to reintroduce fluoride to its water supply now that it has a refreshed supply. But because it’s unclear how long it will be before suppliers can provide more, the city is reintroducing fluoride at a reduced level starting Monday, according to a news release…
