Caddo Fire District 4 unveils region’s largest brush truck to fight fast-moving wildfires

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – The following information is provided by Caddo Fire District #4:

“Caddo Fire District 4 is proud to place our newest piece of apparatus into service, a brand-new Ford F-550 built to be a serious grass and brush firefighting machine.

Brush 414 gives our crews the ability to actively fight fire from inside the cab of the truck, providing firefighters with a safer and more effective way to operate during fast-moving grass fires and especially along busy highways and major roadways.

This truck is the largest brush apparatus of its kind in Northwest Louisiana, and it certainly didn’t get much time to sit around and look pretty. On its very first day in service, Brush 414 responded to multiple calls for service and immediately went to work protecting our community.

We want to sincerely thank the citizens of Caddo Fire District 4 for your continued support. Your support allows us to invest in modern equipment, advanced technology, and the best tools available so our firefighters can operate more safely and provide the highest level of service possible.

We are proud of where CFD 4 is headed, and Brush 414 is another major step forward in our commitment to being prepared for whatever comes next.

Check out the photos from some of Brush 414’s very first runs!…
